The Avenues — Phase III
Kuwait City, Kuwait

Inspired by the world's great cityscapes, this latest phase of The Avenues comprises six distinct districts, each offering a signature shopping experience. Emulating the best of destinations like the Champs Elysees and New York's Soho neighborhood, the development will house 545 retail units, including 52 food and beverage outlets, in a dramatic scheme that includes The Mall, The Grand Avenue, SoKu, The Bazaar, Luxury Mall and The Souk. These new districts will connect to earlier phases of The Avenues through a series of courtyard plazas. The result will be a stunning extension to one of the Middle East's premier retail and leisure destinations. Find out more here.

Hangouts in Kuwait

Ever wanted to go out and did not know where to go to? Well,  it happens to me all the time.

Some people are born here and lived here their whole lives, but they always find it hard to find places where they can have fun. It might be a challenge to find something new to do everyday, or maybe you just think it is.

Everyone says that you can only eat and shop in Kuwait, but that's not true! There are places where people can have fun and not spend a lot of money.

So, here is what we will do. I will post about whatever place I find interesting and so can you, so please e-mail me and I will post them with your names, or without if you wish so. Start here by filling out this survey for me!

First hangout:
I will start by talking about "Tareq Rajab museum and Museum of Islamic Calligraphy".
I found it once while driving around Jabriya, what seemed to be a beautiful home turned out to be a museum. It is located in block 12, close to the Iranian school. On 14th March 2007 it opened its doors for the first time.

This museum includes:
  • Ceramics
  • Costumes
  • Calligraphy
  • Glass
  • Jewellery
  • Manuscripts
  • Metal Work

Tareq Rajab Museum

You can take your family or friends and enjoy your time seeing historical items and knowing essential information about them.

Every day is a Holiday!

Ever since we moved here to Kuwait in 1994, almost every day was a holiday for me. We went to restaurants, the beach, the swimming pool or the park anytime we wanted. Of course my parents would only let us go if we finish our homework.

It's almost 2013 and this is still how it is in Kuwait. If you drive around Kuwait at any time you will find people in cafes or restaurants, people shopping in malls, others spending time with their children on the sea side and so many cars in the streets. Maybe Kuwait is the city that should be called the city that never sleeps.

I was driving yesterday night at 11:00 pm, and I shot this video to prove my point, it is not so clear but I think it does show how many cars are out there. Here is where I shot the video.

Where:
1-      Gulf road
2-      Marina mall Parking
3-      Marina Crescent
4-      Al Mataem  Road

Don't people need to sleep early? Aren't there jobs, schools and classes? It is also amusing how people go to the cinemas, shopping malls and restaurants any day of the week. It doesn't really matter whether it is a weekend or not. People are willing to have fun at all times. Kuwait is really special and the life style here is really interesting.
